Board Upgrade Resulting in Downtime
ProBoards, the host of Third Watch UK, are currently using Version 3, however starting from today (2nd May) all forums will be upgraded to Version 4 - which will give us approx 120 new features including...
- Karma (a feature where we can give each other good or bad feedback) - Invisible Mode - Sub Forums - Quick Reply - Spell Check
And many, many more!
Forums will be upgraded in order of the server that they are hosted on, Third Watch UK is on #18, so it may take a couple of days to get to us. The upgrade should be completed fully by 7th May.
A message will be posted at the top of Third Watch UK at least 24 hours before the board is taken offline in order for the upgrade to take place. So we will have a warning.
Downtime for each server can be as low as 10 hours, or as high as 24 hours. However once the upgrade has been done, this board will remain closed until the main admin (Moe) reopens it.

Activating Your AccountOnce Third Watch UK has been upgraded, it looks like all members will have to reactivate their account. When you log in, it will automatically send an activation code by email to the email address in your profile (so make sure this is a valid email) and will then ask you to enter that code before letting you log in fully. You will only need to do this once. Without this code you will not be able to gain access. Remember that some email providers will send the ProBoards activation email to the junk folder, so please check all folders. If there is a delay in receiving your activation code, please remember that ProBoards will be sending out hundreds of tousands of emails over the coming days and weeks and there may be a backlog which in turn may cause a slight delay. Do not panic, wait patiently. DO NOT re-register as multiple accounts will be deleted. If all else fails you can contact me by sending an email to karen.thirdwatchuk@gmail.com and I will do my best to get any problems sorted.

Just a quick update - after the upgrade was done on the ProBoards Support forum, a few bugs were found which will be fixed before the rest of the servers are upgraded. This means that there is now a delay in when this board will be done.
All server upgrades should now be completed by 13th May.
